Our relationship with St Edmund’s College spans over 10 years. The college uses our specialist course booking software Resirva, designed specifically for language schools and international summer programmes. Resirva moves the entire enrolment process online. From applications and payments to reporting and student management, Resirva centralises the entire process to improve accuracy, reduce workload, and enhance the student and parent experience.
The challenge
St Edmund’s College runs summer courses for international students across a broad range of academic and extracurricular subjects.
Previously, the entire enrolment and course management process was partly offline, relying on spreadsheets, paper forms, and manual data entry, and partly on a dated online provision that wasn't giving the school everything they needed.
This approach was complex, time-consuming, and prone to errors, making it difficult to maintain accurate records and effectively manage the summer school.
The college needed a reliable, proven software solution to digitise their summer school operations.

Bringing the summer school online
The entire summer school operation is managed within Resirva’s administration environment, including courses, accommodation options, pricing, and logistics. This information powers the admissions website, drives the enrolment workflow, and provides a framework for school management. Applicants can browse course details and commence their applications directly on the platform. St Edmund’s College chose Resirva’s Pro tier, which provides a fully integrated website for end-to-end management, rather than a standalone application process.

A simple two-stage application process
Applications are structured into two stages: an initial application and full enrolment. In stage one, applicants provide only the essential information needed for assessment. Resirva automatically evaluates data against criteria such as age, nationality, and English proficiency, providing recommendations for the admissions team. Successful applicants are invited to complete stage two, confirming their place with a deposit or full payment and submitting any additional information required.

Communicating with applicants
Resirva automates standard communications, including confirmations, reminders, invoices, and visa letters. Any ad-hoc messages can also be created within the system, with a full record of all correspondence maintained against each enrolment. The same also applies for agents, who can be communicated with in bulk to advise of widespread notifications or directly for application-specific updates.

Flexible course structure
Courses are organised into modular course blocks, each with specific learning objectives. St Edmund’s staff can manage courses entirely through the CMS, creating a library that can roll over year after year. Optional subjects can be added, and courses can be duplicated for different seasons, such as Easter or Summer, providing maximum flexibility.

Online application process
Resirva provides a user-friendly online application process where parents can submit all necessary student data, including course selection, parental permissions, and medical information. Families can manage multiple students from a single hub, save progress, return to applications later, and view all payment details and schedules. The system guides applicants through each step clearly, reducing errors and increasing completion rates.

Payment methods
Payments are processed securely via an integrated payment gateway during checkout. Alternative payment methods such as bank transfer are manually recorded within the system to maintain complete financial records, with prompts ensuring no data is missed. Integration with Flywire is also supported, enabling enhanced international payment reporting.

Detailed and accurate reporting
During enrolment, the course and subject selections made by students are captured in Resirva and used to generate detailed reports. These reports show which students are enrolled in which courses, broken down by timeframes such as weekly or fortnightly blocks. All sensitive information, including medical data, is securely stored. The system can generate reports on any aspect of the enrolment and course management process, including full financial reporting. Data can be exported as CSV files for analysis in Excel, and preset filters allow frequently used reports to be produced quickly and consistently.

Agent portal
Resirva provides a dedicated portal for agents, who act as intermediaries by submitting applications on behalf of their students. Through this secure login, agents can manage multiple student applications, track enrolment progress, and access real-time status updates. This streamlines communication and reduces manual follow-up, while ensuring all data entered by agents is accurately captured in the school’s central database.
